It's Luc Waldo Alexander playing the string section, he is a very talented South African musician , we manage to make it sound as an ensemble thanks to the very talented Dylan Ellis mixing the song.
The song is about that feeling of bliss that you get when you manage to get away from a relationship that was destructive>
I actually don't like listening to it, I think it's because of the time we spent working on those strings, it took forever and the result was meeeeh
