There are five magic words that I know,
Please
Sorry
Excuse
Thank you
Pardon me
The above is a nursery rhyme.
You can listen to it by clicking on the image before.
While in the shower this morning, I was counting my blessings and giving thanks to God. One of the things that came to mind was an experience I had with someone.
I had to write off something just to keep some level of friendship with someone. I showed someone favor that really wasn't easy to do at first.
What I got in return was a reaction that was fueled by an entitlement mentality or would you call it pride. The least I expected was a thank you.
So I almost got angry but then instead of getting angry, I decided to look at it from another angle.
I decided not to see it as pride for her side. Rather I saw it as a difference in upbringing and exposure. I was brought up to say THANK YOU for the least favour I receive from people. Maybe she wasn't brought up that way.
So today, I am grateful that I can say Thank you for the least favour I receive from people. I am grateful to my mother who instilled this in me. And I am grateful to everyone who gave me reasons to say thank you easily. I am grateful for @tojukaka who came about this idea on steemit. Thank you all so much.
Thank you is a magic word that softens the hardest of hearts. Train yourself to say it easily when you should.
Thanks for reading.
