I guess this is what happens when you catch up after a month without talking, with the idea to do a podcast on Internet fasting ( a topic decided on a month ago )....
Zach - aka @whatamidoing - and I get sidetracked a lot and go back to our past. We discuss when we first started using the Internet, around the mid 90s, we talk about our little endeavors into HTML, the good old dial up modem and the way we used the Internet before we actually used the Internet.
After 16 minutes of talking about the past, I ask Zach: "Do you wanna go back to the fasting?" He replies: "Yeah, I feel we're going to far off of it..." and then continues with: "That's the fun thing about this. We can enjoy it for ourselves because we don't even know who's listening to us right now."
Then Zach starts using the F word, the double F word: Facebook and its Feed. The notorious Facebook Feed. He talks about how Facebook was first "a safe place" ( at its start ). I never really experienced that, possibly because I only started using it about three years later, late 2007.
I start talking about the addictiveness of Facebook and also Twitter and how these things affect my energy.
Around 27 minutes, we start talking about Steemit. We talk about being social, the energy thing, observing people, creativity, the importance of alone time ( for writing ) and many more things.
After 57 minutes, I mention that "the funny thing is that I didn't even talk about Internet fasting yet" haha!
Anyhow, the result is an hour and 15 minutes of two intelligent, creative, friendly guys with nice voices, talking, jumping from topic to topic.
If you have difficulty falling asleep, this is highly recommended listening. If you just want to get to know us better or like the overall living room kind of vibe of two people talking ( and you listening in on them ), don't miss this either.
Until next time, where we plan to pick a topic that we feel excited about on the day that we actually podcast, aiming to stray a little less. That is, unless we get loads of comments of people telling us to keep drifting away from the main topic. This is how we roll!
P.S. On the picture you see me about 30 years ago, at a time before the Internet. Back then, playing outside was the norm ( unless it rained ). I was waiting for Zack to turn up but we only met 28 years later.
