This is part 1 of a series of videos that I am putting together that I talk about my experiences being taken from my family and placed in foster care. In this video I talk about the tactics that the HRS (now DCF) used to get me to agree that the accusations against my father were true. I was only 12 years old and even though I had a busted lip the marks on my forehead were because I have dry skin and I tried to cover it with makeup. I will call them DCF from here on out so you know who I am talking about.
My teacher called and made a claim of abuse against my father. Which caused me to be removed from school that day and taken to the police station where I sat there for the rest of the day and into the night. With no food and only 1 glass of water. I spent hours telling them what they claimed was not true. However they insisted and even told me that if I agreed they would let me leave. I just wanted to go home so I finally agreed that what they were saying was the truth. They than took me to a foster home. I talk a little about the horrible conditions this home was. And I tell you why I left. I also decided at that moment that I would not ever stay in another foster home.
I also talk about when they put me in a mental hospital. I was a chronic runner and I felt that I was better off on my own than I was staying in a foster home. I was never reunified with my family and I aged out of the system.
