Man, ain’t that the truth also in life, sometimes we can make things harder for ourselves when we really don’t need them to be, we can get set/stuck in our ways and believe we need to stand by our morals, values, ethics and never back down — after all you are a reasoned human being and your value your brain chemistry.

I’m kinda digging the whole stoic vibe, I can take pieces out and piecemeal them together at the drop of a hat, take what’s relevant and move on. It’s kinda how I use technology and blockchains for blogging actually. I want the fun and enjoyable parts, the bits that make pressing submit and committing that moment in time, those neurons firing in the grey matter to the ledger, stored across the chain.
I would be lying if I didn’t think heavily with a heavy heart as to the level of immutability this blockchain has now with Justin sun walking in and picking up a 73 million steem it bag, I mean that kinda changes the game and all the witnesses and XP hoarders are looking at it as a potential hostile take-over, like a 51% attack but well, a lot less, the intention could be the same.
It’s now when the top 20 need to hold the line like spartans protecting the very open source code base that has ran and had 20+ sticking plaster hard forks along the way, it’s the most battle tested chain out there in the world — that’s worth something, that’s why justin bought steemit.
But that does not mean you get the community along with it, there are ethics, values and belief systems at play here also, this is not a 9-5 business with clients and invoices, this is passion, digitised to an open source block chain ledger and we have our witnesses to protect that chain, it’s their obligation they signed up for.
While I’m not saying we need to fork, I’m also not saying we need to allow us to be eating tronflakes tomorrow, I don’t think I can take emotionless avatar style faces on my breakfast bagel, the buck(wheat) has to stop somewhere right, it’s who controls the data, the power — the flip and reverse could start at any time.
So anyway, if there is anything I have learned in my time on planet earth is when you are close to the fire, chances are you’ll probably lose focus from the heat and get burned, you can still enjoy the heat and intensity of the fire from a far, you can eat fire up a marshmallow on a stick and dangle that in the middle to take some of the embers to enjoy the entertainment too.
Remember to meditate today, take deep breaths, yes the ledger and what it stands for is important but there is also a world outside your window that needs you to be an active analog citizen too. Enjoy your time.
