Last week I took the plunge and started a fundraiser with fundition.io to try to get some help for a pretty severe 5 year breathing problem. It was hard to ask for help with this, but after so many years of daily breathing problems I just had to put the word out. I was trying to raise some money to pay for a therapist who could help me with this problem because I basically don't have the funds to pay for it right now. My fundraiser went out to the world and I crossed my fingers to see what would happen. A few days passed and it was pretty clear that the rewards wouldn't even pay for one session since the cheapest therapist I had found costs about $50! I decided to just let it go, and hoped that somehow it would work out over the final few days of the fundraiser.
Suddenly one day last week I got a message on discord from @eftnow! I have seen @eftnow around on Steemit and never thought much about what his name actually means. As it turns out EFT is a form of healing that is based on tapping certain key points on the body that can help to relieve various conditions including stress and anxiety. @eftnow told me that he had seen my fundraiser and would like to help me! As luck would have it he had done his OWN fundraiser that was set up to help subsidise other people who needed help but couldn't afford it. I had even spotted that fundraiser and supported it with my upvote. Now it looked like my support was coming back to me! @eftnow said that he would be willing to give me a few sessions to help me for free, and I could also trade his help for some advice and help with his website. This sounded like a great trade to me, and I gladly agreed! I have heard of EFT before, and had once tried it with a friend who was very into it. @eftnow is a trained professional and from his Bio it was clear to me that I would be in good hands. Just a few short days later and we had our first Video meeting to discuss my symptoms and needs. Then two days ago we had our first actual session and let me tell you it went very well!
We went deep into some of my childhood traumas, and he was very good at asking the right questions and helping to guide me to the places that I needed to go. By the end of just one session I was able to improve my breathing from a 5/10 to an 8/10 which was incredible progress, and has given me great hope that with more time and some inner work I may indeed be able to one day breath free again! So I have a huge appreciation and gratitude to him for reaching out and spotting me, and being willing to support me with his great knowledge and time to help me overcome this very difficult challenge. @eftnow is very good at what he does, and I can highly recommend him to you if you are looking to alleviate stress or other symptoms that can be treated by EFT. @eftnow, my friend, THANK YOU!! You may well have helped me to turn things around!
My gratitude doesn't end there though! I am also about to see a different kind of therapist face to face, and was really hoping to get the funds I need for this work from my fundraiser. Even though it didn't bring me the funds I needed for a session with her, my good friend and old timer on the @ecoTrain @likedeeler stepped in with a very big surprise. He messaged me last week that he had sent me 100 Steem to help me get a few sessions! That is a LOT of Steem to send someone, and is one of the biggest gifts I can remember receiving! I can only say a very huge thank you to @likedeeler for this incredibly generous gift, because it is enough to buy me a few sessions with a lady who I believe can really help me go deeper with this process, and hopefully bring me back to good health. It was SO unexpected because I had pretty much given up on the idea, and was wondering how else I could proceed to raise these funds. So dear @likedeeler, I will never forget this generosity and kindness you have given to someone who you have never even met! You are a ROCK STAR!.. and my first session will be on Thursday, so I'm really looking forward to that!
So, there we have it folks! I am on the road now to getting help and its all thanks to a couple of super stars, and of course fundition.io and Steemit! What an incredible community we have here.. so supportive, so caring, and so generous and kind. I'm sure I could have posted on Facebook only to have been ignored by news feed algorithms and would probably not have received anything at all.. Now thanks to Steemit I have received not only money but met the very people I have been looking for to help me! Yay!
It is my first Steem Birthday in two days and yet it feels like a LIFETIME! I would like to give a very big thank you to the following people for being a very special part of my Steemit life.
