The Documentary, “They Say It Can’t Be Done” captures a whole other side of entrepreneurship that you don't really see, which is the rules and regulations. The documentary is an informative documentary that explains how innovation can solve alot of problems in the world with businesses. The regulations that the companies in the film had to get through was quite impressive especially with the difficulty they were to get by in the past. In the film they showed how businesses started up and it wasnt how all the other businesses; they started ones that pushed the boundaries and regulations causing them to change. Which is very different because they found ways around the problem and got to start their business, which is unlike most businesses and how they start. This documentary makes it clear that you gain competitive advantage if you know all the rules and regulations in the field that you want to start your business in. That is what the companies had to do to become successful and they were the first ones to ever do what they did.
This whole film was practically about creative destruction. Creative destruction occurred throughout the whole film because the start of the new businesses were to help with the environment destroying the old ones while staying between the rules and regulations. These companies are the new future for society and in twenty years there will be a new normal that will be replaced with an even better idea. On this side of entrepreneurship it shows that you have to prove to society that you are knowledgeable about your product and all the regulations behind it. Society can have an impact on regulations
They Say It Can’t Be Done is definitely an entrepreneurial film because it shows the entrepreneurial aspect and the relationship between society. I found this documentary very interesting because I never really thought of the side of rules and regulations of a business. What I got out of the film is that no matter what, we as entrepreneurs will always be in a battle with society because of the current regulations and rules and always finding ways around them.
