There are few folks here on the blockchain that I enjoy reading (outside of my #steemsilvergold friends) and one of those people is @themarkymark. He is a steem witness, a programming guru (at least it seems that way to me, I mean, popcorn), he holds meme contests and he's funny as hell when he posts his conversations with people on his blacklist ( I tried to find one but can't seem to at the moment)
Anyhow, today he posted his thoughts about engaging with each other here and issued an engagement challenge. I like it and I am in.
Now, this is not a thing where I say, "I am going to reply to every comment blah blah blah..." I am not "vowing" to do anything, it usually ends badly. Truth is I LOVE commenting on other posts, in fact, that was my bread and butter when I first came to steem over two years ago. Commenting. That was all I did. I was not a "blogger" and I sure didn't think I had anything original or interesting to add as far as posts went so I commented on other posts. Sometimes with a serious question or comment and (more often) with some sort of silly shit designed to get a laugh.
An example of this engagement changing me is #steemsilvergold. I knew nothing of silver stacking and precious metals before coming to steem but I saw a post by (a long-gone) guy called @vegsansilverstack, I engaged with him in the comments and before I knew it I had acquired my first ounce of silver.
So I am going to accept @themarkymark's challenge to engage more AND leave my comfort zone too. I'm not sure how I will do that last part yet but if you follow me you will find out as I do. :)
I peer pressure challenge the following users to take part:
@plaid
@champagnecrypto
@naltedtirt
