Intro
I've read a lot of articles comparing ETH and EOS, its really technical if you are not a programmer you will not understand half of articles about it, so I decided to do a simple comparison so an average person will understand the difference and then they can decide for themselves with one should they put their money on.
EOS vs Ethereum
Who will take the blockchain technology to the next level? The first level of blockchain Technology is Bitcoin(BTC) lets call this blockchain 1.0 blockchain that where we can store and transfer value, There are a lot of other coins that uses blockchain 1.0 DOGE, LTC etc.
Then Ethereum came with blockchain 2.0 where we can run smart contracts and Dapps(decentralized apps).
A smart contract, also known as a cryptocontract, is a computer program that directly controls the transfer of digital currencies or assets between parties under certain conditions.
Decentralized applications (dApps) are applications that run on a P2P network of computers rather than a single computer.
Like other public blockchains, Ethereum intends to support as many users as it can. The problem is that, today, we don't really know the limits of the platform. There are times that the network is so slow, if you remember the CryptoKitties last December 10, 2017 the marketplace accounted for almost 15% of Ethereum’s total network transactions which greatly overwhelmed Ethereum’s network, which means slower transaction times for all applications running on the network.
And Blockchain 3.0 platforms like EOS, basically EOS is trying to solve the scalability issues that blockchains have at the moment by utilizing flexible architecture and tools for programmers.
The brain behind EOS Dan Larimer has proven himself to deliver great results on his pass projects like Steemit and Bitshares and he promises to solve the scale issue on the blockchains with EOS.
So which one should we invest in?
Actually both are good projects! ETH already has plans to update the blockchain to help with the scaling issues which can make Ethereum be blockchain 3.0 as well.
I believe in Vitalik Buterin one the the great minds that we have today, but when you look at return on investments I would say take a look at EOS, this is not just hype, this is real developers and programmers rally behind EOS to be top crypto currency of 2018.
Will EOS surpass Ethereum? We don't really know I guess we will see, EOS will be launched fall 2018 so we can hope that the price surge this year!
I'll hold for both coins! Well I got Ethereum at $3 and now EOS $4, Im so excited with EOS will it shoot to the moon like Ethereum? Your thoughts?
