Introducing:
www.eosindex.io
EOSindex is a directory for all Projects based around the EOS.io platform. The EOSindex website is in the early stages, the website went live mid February. A lot of the features still need to be implemented or optimized. I first had the idea of building a directory last year in October when I had trouble finding Projects, it seemed like there was no specific place to browse the latest dapps.
I quickly thought of a name and registered it. Done.
Then for a while ... nothing.
That is until the crazy crypto run through 2017 ended and 2018 started with half my crypto portfolio gone, it seemingly vanished like everyone elses.
So what I think EOSindex should be is like the App Store is for iOS, maybe without so many restrictions. If EOS is being considered "the new Internet" then you might even go as far as calling EOSindex the "App Store for the new Internet". I know, I know, but a guy is allowed to dream!
The idea is to be a free service for both the visitors as well as the projects. I am planning on introducing some premium features for the projects to customize their look and increase exposure. A weekly Featured Project started piloting this past Monday. Being featured means EOSindex dedicates a whole section of the main page to your project and provides in depth information about it.
Statistics
The website has been online for about 3 weeks now. Brendan Bloomer and the main EOS Twitter account both tweeted about the EOSindex and the visitor count shot through the roof.
In total the website has over 50k page views and all completely organically in less than a month. This month EOSindex has already seen many changes and optimizations. Far over 300 users signed up and over 30 Projects have been added in the first month. Huge shout out to everybody who submitted a Project!
Whats next
Many of you have already asked... an edit button. For now, please contact me in Telegram and I will hack the changes directly into the back end. Anyhow I am working on the permissions and roles system so that you can edit your own listings. Stay tuned for that (coming soon very soon)!!!
Token
The idea of an EOSindex Token has crossed my mind a few times... but I cant really find a proper use case that would justify it yet. Any ideas?
