Necip Fazıl Kısakürek was born on 26 May 1904 in Istanbul. His father is Abdülbaki Fazıl Bey, and his mother is Madiha Hanim. Necip Fazil, who received religious education from his father, started his education at the local mecca. In 1912 he entered the French School of Freres in Gedikpaşa. After a while he left this school and enrolled in American College. However, his education in this school was continued at Emin Efendi Mahalle Mektebi. Then he went to Istanbul Büyük Reşit Paşa Numune Mektebi and then to the Guide-i Union School.
Due to the relocation of his family to Heybeliada, he passed the Heybeliada Numune Mektebi. Later, he entered Mekteb-i Fünun-u Bahriye-i Şahane. There were names such as Yahya Kemal and Hamdullah Suphi among their folks. Necip Fazıl, whose interest in poetry increased, made a weekly magazine called "Nihal".
In 1921 he registered with Darülfunun Philosophy Branch. He met many famous writers in this school. His poems were published in "Yeni Mecmua" magazine. In 1924 he entered the Sorbonne University in Paris with a scholarship. He met Henri Bergson here.
After returning to Turkey's Dutch Ottoman Bank and the Bank of Bahr-i Sefid he worked at various branches. In 1929 İşbank worked in Ankara Branch.
Necip Fazıl was known for his second poetry book, Pavements, published at the age of 24. Until 1934, he was known only as a poet and he was one of the leading names of Bab-i Ali, the center of the Turkish press in that period. After a meeting with Abdülhakîm Arvâî in 1934, Kısakürek was a poet who made a public announcement of the Islamist views through the Great East Magazine, published between 1943 and 1978, and published the Great East Movement. Magazine, has played a leading role in the spread of anti-Semitism in Turkey.
On September 17, 1943, he made the first issue of "Great East" magazine. Although the magazine was closed from time to time, it continued to broadcast until 1978.
Necip Fazıl Kısakürek passed away on May 25, 1983.
