The Tether project released a new batch of tokens, in particular 86 million coins, backed by the EUR EURT and $ 60.1 million, backed by the dollar, despite the controversial reputation of the project and the ongoing debate with the auditor.
The EURT and USDT tokens are issued on the basis of the Etherium and have their own wallets, in which the course is displayed in real time.
Finance Magnates quoted a September announcement from Ethfinex (a branch of Bitfinex) about one of the new tokens based on the Etherium:
"In view of the massive success of USDTether, based on Bitkoyne, Tether is now working with Ethfinex on the development of the first ERC20-based Tether standard," the announcement says.
"ERC20 Tether will allow tokenized dollars to participate in exchange operations on the Etherium network, increasing interoperability between the Etherium and applications and allowing users to conduct transactions in the currency of the currencies within the Etherium network."
Receipt of deposits and operations with tokens became available on January 22, but volumes of issue of tokens and details of the project became known only now.
