About a year ago the SEC rejected the Ethereum ETF filing by the Winklevoss twins (you may remember them as the ones who sued Facebook for stealing their idea. They are also the head of the Gemini exchange).
The Winklevoss twins used a law firm partly owned by a lawyer named Dalia Blass during the SEC filing. Guess what? 5 days ago Dalia Blass was appointed to the SEC. It gets better: After no activity on the SEC filing for almost a year, yesterday (Sept 5th) there has been a filing update. 5 days after Dalia Blass, the one who represented Winklevoss' ETH ETF filing, was appointed to the SEC, suddenly there is activity in this filing.
Current speculation is that it will be approved. IF it does, old traditional money will be streaming into ETH. Easily $1,000 ETH by the year's end, if this plays out correctly. ETF = exchange traded fund. Pensions, hedge funds, retirement accounts, etc. "old money" will be able to invest in ETH in a manner they are familiar with.
