24-year-old co-founder of the Brazilian stock exchange Foxit Gustavo Schiavon was killed in a car accident, according to crypto.bi.
The accident occurred between the cities of são Paulo and Marilla after Schiavon lost control of the car due to rain. According to a local source, the car crashed into a truck.
Together with Schiavon drove his girlfriend Ariadne Rinolfi, who managed to survive. She is in a serious condition in the hospital of são Paulo.
Foxbit is one of the largest Brazilian crypto-exchanges. The trading platform was created in 2014 by Gustavo Schiavon together with his friends Joao Canada, Marcos Enrique and Felipe Trovao.
