I was going to write three separate articles, but instead I am going to write just one, since the subject is all really encompassed by one principle pattern.
The most familiar example that people would be aware of is the rise of Bovine, Ungulate and Equine herds, particularly the former. In the early stages, these herds, whose genetics were selected by the artifice of combat for breeding rights.
Unlike most other types of animals, who are solitary or familial, the ability to survive alone or work as a team is not selected for. The genetics that propagate into the herd come from the Alpha clique, as opposed to the Alpha male (patriarch) of familial, or the simple territorial combat of Solitary animals.
Herd animals genetics are thus selected for dominance, and the entire herd is dominant, and consequently mows down everything in their path, mostly grasses and small trees, but anything and everything, along the flat lands where the floods bring fertile soil periodically. The Herds themselves actually widen and extend the flats. They range some way up into the hilly slopes, mowing down all the scrubby plants, and bring on erosion that eventually makes the plains wider also.
But with no natural check on the expansion of their population, eventually also starvation occurs, and this can affect the whole herd all at the same time. In parallel to the evolution of the bovine river flats making herds, Scavengers and eventually Hunters arise. The hunters are Familial or Solitary. Lions and Wolves are Familial hunters, most of the
Solitary hunters were felines, panthers, jaguars, tigers, cheetahs. Even in the small scale the same pattern can be seen with the parallel evolution of the river-flats loving Rabbits, Otters and Moles, etc, whose warrens and love of greenery and ever expanding populations would have initially led to starvation from unchecked population expansion.
New information has come to light recently, that the previously thought to be reptilian 'dinosaurs' were mostly, in fact, large birds, covered in feathers, and exhibited the same basic set of 3 patterns, the herding Grazers, and the Team/Familial and Solitary hunters, arising again out initially of small scavenger species who largely initially emerged following the herds as they overgrazed in poorer seasons, who ate the losers of the dominance fights.
In the world of the 'Dinosaurs', again, it was Snakes and Lizards, who did develop different bodies, the reptilian scales, flexible bodies, and propensity to eat the eggs of the herds, limiting their expansion, or strangling stragglers, and so on.
Team hunting is not of so much interest to me in this discussion, because Stalkers are not familial. We are largely Solitary, most likely only retaining life pair bonding tendencies and social interactions based on mutual interests and market transactions. The process takes place through a recurring cycle.
Out of the fringes of the genome of the dominant herds, throwback individuals, whose genetics combine features of the dominant creature, with the genetics of the previous cycle of solitary hunters. Cats borrow more than a few features from Snakes and Lizards, this can be most visibly be seen in the very agile lizards, whose lean physique and incredible flexibility and acrobatic ability are shared with the later Felines.
The difference with humans is that outwardly, it can be difficult to distinguish when a speciation is occurring within such a dominant herding species as Homo Sapiens. Individuals who lacked the ability to breed with Homo Sapiens due to divergence in the binding proteins of their gametes, were mostly one-offs, indeed, there is several examples of such in history.
They may have actually been or suspected of being homosexual, because of their seeming lack of fertility. The solitary Hunters, the stage of evolution that I am calling Stalkers, have a different function from previous. Unlike previous families of animals, humans have largely retained inter-breeding ability.
Being outwardly mostly the same, except for their throwback oddities, usually they are skinny, wiry and agile, their heightened senses, abnormal digestion, left-right dominance, their compulsive curiosity, their weak familial bonding and total absence of herd allegiance, they generally have tended towards the margin of society, and often were unable to find a compatible (physically, for reproduction) mate.
This is now changed, thanks to the internet, which was of course largely built by folk who were probably mostly also Stalkers, regardless of what anyone says, in the early 20th century, the fringes of government research facilities were a common place where such individuals could be found. At DARPA, with the invention of routed networking, with Xerox PARC, where object oriented, reflective programming and WIMP interfaces were first developed.
The geeky inventors previously I have made a distinction between hierarchy loving 'Nerds' and crazy 'Geeks' in the field of IT. I now can make the distinction between them in another way, that links them to other groups - the Austrian/Market anarchists, agorists, the survivalists, the cypherpunks, punks, industrial music folk, basically anyone whose preoccupation is related to being by themselves, and inventing and discovering.
Now, just as the Bovine and 'Dinosaur' herds ran into the eventual problem of being unable to regulate their population growth, and visiting massive death upon themselves as they roamed dessicated dustbowls, devoid of their browsage because of their excessive population, the Homo Sapiens herd animal has come to its own final reckoning.
There is in reality 3 primary Herds in the Homo Sapiens species now. The Russians, the Chinese and the Europeans. The former two are late stage herds, they are conservative and do not attempt to open such vast new territories as the Europeans did during the latter half of the second millenium. They had their own Ages a long time before, and after coming to the hard boundaries of their territory, adopted a 'wiser' approach of more careful selection of not so dominant features in the Ruling Classes, the human equivalent of the dominant group at the head of Bovine herds who compete but usually largely for sport, among each other, rarely fatally injuring each other, but usually trouncing those who rise up and attempt to take their place in this clique.
The difference between Homo Sapiens and the Bovines largely has to do with intelligence. It is possible for herds to reach equilibrium, but impossible for all herds to do so, within the same species. There is always a dominant herder group who conquer and steal rich territory from older, more primitive, less dominant groups, for various reasons.
Thus we stand at the threshold now where there is 3 dominant Herds, and they are about to literally drag their herd members into the greatest mass murder spectacle of all history. With the internet enabling the Stalkers to find each other, it is fast becoming time for them to start collaborating on shared projects. Stalkers will actually become space travelers.
This is central to my thesis. I have, in fact, a set of 5 technologies essential for post terrestrial Stalker society:
- Passive energy accumulating device - This I believe is an electromagnetic coil array that captures every frequency of EMF, and accumulates it into a virtual rotating magnetic axis.
- Gravity Shield/Nullifier - According to Einstein, zero mass means zero energy required for movement. It also means zero ability to strike with any kind of ballistic physical force.
- Radiation Shield - Most likely related to and based on the former, in fact, unlike the outrageously daring European Herd Masters, who claim to have sent living things out into the Van Allen Belt and beyond, the Russians deny such is possible, and in fact were the first at putting living things out unto the boundary of this region. The technology to stop the deadly radiation does not yet exist.
- Non-fusing Light Generator - The primary method of creating livable habitats is by replicating the Sun. In fact Stars are centrifuges, throwing out light matter first and then slowly more and more heavy matter until they implode and disperse the heavy matter into Nebulae, which then again recapture photons and other light matter, and reform stars, planets, etc. Similarly the Stalker Light Generator works by recapturing and re-emitting energy. A plant absorbs the photons in photosynthesis, but then after it displaces electrons, it is back in the environment. The Stalker Light generator will recapture this photon, and re-emit it.
- Instantaneous 'entanglement' type communication network system - Since Stalkers will actually go off planet, and be able to do so at hyperluminous speeds, likewise, they will want to share information in a similar way. The simplest way to explain my conception of how this works is that there is a primary particle that is massless and incompressible. When strings of such primary particles line up, like a Newton's Balls, with its low-elasticity steel, the force travels between a row of these balls faster than the balls themselves actually move, because they act as a single object. This is how Stalker Zero Time of Travel communication will work.
For some background information also, The book Roadside Picnic, and its term 'Stalker' and the followup movie and then eventually games, have symbolic references to the same process of differentiation and the way that this comes at a point of crisis as humans become capable of almost doing anything (the Wishgranter), like the herd that has reached the physical limit of its territory, just prior to having mass starvation.
The Carlos Castaneda books, and the central character 'Don Juan Matus', a toltec shaman, refers to the primary process of his shamanism as 'Stalking', a reference to the hunting style of solitary hunting felines, and indeed also, unmentioned above, in ancient human society, which was initially largely familial, tribal and semi-nomadic, the oddballs were marginalised, probably also could not, in many cases, breed successfully (in familial society, lack of apparent fertility meant loss of life mates and marginalisation), and were called 'witches' or 'shamans' and practised various kinds of 'magic' which made them also appear to have uncanny abilities, as mentioned previously, but there is no such thing as Magick, only, in fact, the ability to pick up on information that is present but not overtly visible, which can be also explained in part by the expanded sensory acuity of Stalkers.
