This morning I saw I reach Reputation 78!
Only 18 other Steemians have this number in front of their name!
And yes, I know the number can be easily increased by buying votes but considering I never bought a single vote I feel like I did it organically from the start (July 2016).
It wasn't easy.
I had to show up every day, make content, make connections, invest in the platform, take the risk and grind.
And in doing so, I have built a foundation.
I'm now a 101 weekly author!
Yes! 101 weeks, 7 days a week, every day on Steem, not missed a post.
I remember almost failing this streak when the blockchain stopped last year but it got online just in time for me to continue my streak.
I also kept posting when everyone's voting Mana went to zero.
I didn't give a shit, I'm a Steemian now. I put in the work.
My blog is a big part of my life, I worked hard on it. It's my business. I want to grow it even today.
My biggest advice for anyone that wants to be a permanent Steemian is to build a foundation first.
When it comes to content it doesn't have to be on Steemit btw, some choose other projects to make their homes like Steemhunt or even Steem Monsters.
And these projects in themselves are amazing foundations build by noncontent creators, but programmers and other hard work people that saw an opportunity and took it on this blockchain.
Nobody told them to do it. They just did.
I choose the road of content but you can do and offer whatever you can to try to earn STEEM.
Look for opportunities, offer your skills to others. Do translate work. You name it. Hussle.
Steem for me is the blockchain of opportunity and not the blockchain of content.
But if you are one of those people that makes a post, collect your money after 7 days and take it out, you will always have to rely on others to sustain your blog.
You will never be independent.
Foundation in SP first, then think about sustainability.
Takes a bit of vision mind you.
With STEEM at 40 cents, you need a truckload of SP to be sustainable where I live.
Could be different for you. Calculate it.
If you know how much STEEMPOWER you need when STEEM is 40 cents then you only need half when STEEM is 80 cents or a quarter when STEEM is $1,60.
If you like me believe that STEEM will be $10 one day then you need to make sure you have at least enough STEEMPOWER today or work your way towards it TODAY so that when STEEM hits $10 you can generate the STEEM that you need from your STEEMPOWER to be sustainable when the price hits $10.
Don't wait until hits $10 first, then you are too late.
By then you will also have to compete with all the "Hey guys, I'm back...people"
Put in the work today. Earn, grind, invest in your STEEMPOWER today.
It's that simple.
Good luck building! Steem on!
