Like most protagonists of Formula 1, Fernando Alonso spoke about Lewis Hamilton's world champion title.
Teammates at McLaren in 2007, the two men had lived a difficult cohabitation, but since few years, there is a lot of mutual respect between them.
Nevertheless, the Spaniard still wanted to point out that the performance of the now five-time world champion was closely linked to the fact that he had the chance to enjoy a great car in recent years. Previously, it was Sebastian Vettel who had this opportunity, which allowed him to win 4 titles between 2010 and 2013.
Speaking to reporters after the race, Alonso said:
"I think that with the same car, any pilot would have been able to do the same thing as Lewis and Sebastian."
"They had the opportunity to have a car that was half a second or a second ahead of the others."
"With such material, it is easier to win a championship."
"Lewis now has five, and I think next year he will still be the favorite, it's a good thing for him."
