I've yet to watch the hearing in full, but from what I've been seeing, it's so hard to even listen to the questions being posed.
So far this is a small screenshot of the memes being generated by the Internet community:
The funniest was when a senator asks how Facebook make money from offering free services. "We run ads." Gosh if only the senator knows how much people are paying to use Facebook! How would Facebook be valued at billions of dollars if it weren't for that?
I also noticed that the general populace is ignorant of the function of cookies in their computers. I'm not going to expound on this, so just go to YouTube and search for "what are cookies" for those of you who have yet to educate.
I'm tired of the panic people are making over Facebook. They're putting the blame onto a platform that they themselves choose to use. Why are people so ignorant? Just stop using it already.
In the meantime, I would rather use my brain cells to prepare for the upcoming Women Techmakers this Sunday, and finish the new design for WebGrrrl.net.
