Parsley and cilantro are herbs appreciated for their valuable contribution to the enrichment of many dishes. These are used to flavor sauces, soups, salads, meats. Both are part of the Apaceae family, which gives them some similarities. However, although they are very similar, they have some differences that, I present below:
The coriander leaves have a lighter green color. Cilantro has a stronger citrus flavor. Cilantro is more elongated.
In parsley, however, its leaves have a more triangular shape, their color is greener and tends to be more alive. Its flavor tends to be softer.
My grandmother said that the best way to differentiate them is by the root, since the coriander has the root, while the parsley does not. According to my grandmother, this was because the roots of the parsley are abortive.
