Choosing the lorikeets for today's post was not a hard decision, they are the regular entertainers of the bird world in the garden, full of noise, squawks and antics as they drink the nectar of the grevillea or eat the seed in the feeders and all the time keeping the doves away.
The bright rainbow colours make them stand out in the trees and shrubs as the hang upside down on the blossoms and walking down the chain of the hanging feeder.
A fact that you probably don't know about lorikeets is that they are drunks. Yes, it is true! You see they do not know when to stop drinking the nectar. In our last home we had glass doors which the lorikeets regularly flew into after feeding on the nectar of the grevillea, banksias or eucalyptus. All we would hear was the almighty bang! Although this would knock them out for a while they would always come round and fly off. Just to prove it here photo taken by a Marquis de Russel found in Australian Geographic August 12 2019. source I love the kookaburra checking out the lorikeet lying prone on the deck. It is probably wondering what the heck, just like we would think!

This is a common scene throughout the day as the lorikeets play around in the grevilea. The make me smile as they muck around thoroughly enjoying themselves for all the world to see.

Thank you lovely @melinda010100 for this fun #featheredfriend tag. How can one not smile as the post is written?
Happy day to everyone, hope you all well and safe, COVID-19 is still here.
