So this past few days we went camping as a family. Wife, myself, and our 2 girls. The plan was for a trip that would be just us and then My Wife's father was working where we went and he would be around for the evenings. The plans changed without any notice and we ended up with the Step Mother and one of the cousins joining the trip.
To be perfectly honest I almost canceled the trip hearing this the night before we left. The Step Monster Mother and I just never have gotten along. One of those people who likes to create bullshit stories to start shit between other people. Pure outright lies in an attempt to create chaos.
Anyways my Wife being the kind hearted person she can be told me that it will be fine and we should just go and enjoy the trip. See this year we aren't doing a real family vacation as my Wife spent 2 weeks in Hawaii for her birthday and that was all of our vacation money for the year...and then some. So this mini vacation to go sleep outdoors on a air mattress sitting around a campfire getting eaten alive by chiggers and mosquitoes is our family vacation for the year. So can't let 1 person ruin that for the kids.
So I sucked it up....and the bugs sucked up my blood. Have no less then 50 bug bites from the few days we were there in Central Indiana, but the thing I thought would be an issue ended up not being a problem at all.
The Step Mother in-law ended up being great the whole time we were there. She was happy that we brought the kids so the cousins could have a trip together and she went out of her way to make sure the kids had everything they wanted. It was amazing to see her this way and made me understand why her kids (by blood) all love her so much. If she acted like this all the time she would be a great person. Just wish I knew what it would take to keep this version of her around.
Anyways this freewrite was supposed to be about nature and the best I have is we were camping...lol. Was thinking of going another direction with this and yet here I am. While on this trip we saw tons of deer, racoons, horses upon horses (Amish country), a few eagles, hawks, and tons of bugs. Think I am done with nature for a while...at least until my legs stop itching.
Done with my beer so the freewrite ends. Being honest here, it's really hard not to go back and reread thing and make edits...but here is my rambling nonsense. Hope you enjoyed my rambling and let me know if I should do this again next Friday.
