Friday again huh? I just verified today’s name in the calendar of my phone and was made aware of two things: First, I answered my own question, today is Friday—fact. Happy Friday! Second, there’s five Fridays this month, 5 f’s (fffff), you know what that means... Five @foodfightfriday contenders at the coolest kitchen on the #blockchain in May, 2019. It is May, right⁉️
Last week I explained the editing process to Pura’s videos and figured tonight I’d show you an example of a not-so coolest kitchen on the blockchain—Pura Vida’s. They’re temporary, we aren’t staying anywhere longer than 30 days so you can imagine the supplied kitchen utensils—basic. Some have blenders, some don’t. Some have microwaves, most don’t, no mixers or specialty items, each location has specific obstacles. We’ve since learned none have welding gloves or weed pot hod’lers either. 🤔
When we landed here in January, Pura got a couple of specialty tools that we carry around with us from place to place but that doesn’t change the place—everything else in these kitchens is rented. Like this oven at our current location:

It’s such an elegant kitchen appliance I felt obligated to photoshop a redwood frame around it before its premier as this weeks cover image—check it out! A one large, two small, electric burner having, no writing or anything, just a 1 and a 6 which cook differently depending which dial you’re using. No timer, no oven light, no adjustable flame and only recently acquired welding gloves an oven mitt for the thing—doesn’t matter. I know one 10 who doesn’t give two turds:
Pura Vida
We’ll be in Guanacaste Province de Costa Rica for a few more weeks—my second favorite stop so far this year. Our current location is a studio apartment on the beach, has a pool, free laundry, WiFi, hot water (you’d be surprised) it checks all of the boxes. Kitchen too, of course, that’s another necessary check. However, not all kitchens are spacious.
I heard “you could’ve at least put the dishes away” but that’s not the point. Every kitchen has dishes, it’s the 24x24 square inches of featured counter space that not every kitchen has. And she still does this:
The cooking utensils are also minimal—one weed pot, one pan, each with their own lid, a few mixing bowls, no more, no less. What you see is what you get—perfect.
It’s just a #new challenge for one 10 who doesn’t give two turds. And it works out great for me! I’m the luckiest.. you know! Gas stoves, electric, six burners, three burner, double oven or no oven at all doesn’t make a difference to me—“guilty!” We shop for the best deals, Pura’s always scoring great deals on temporary rooftops and sure, some of these stays have better kitchens than others but regardless where we are, the #quality on the plates doesn’t change, #life is still the funnest game I’ve ever played and it doesn’t look like we’ll be running out of #fff contenders any time soon.
