About ME
We are responsible for coordinating some of the key elements that keep the HIVE running smoothly. Whilst the HIVE is renowned for being a worldwide network free from central coordination, there is a technical need for some key PLAYAS of the HIVE to be globally coordinated, and this coordination role is undertaken by ME!
Specifically, we allocate and maintain unique [BLOCK] and (CHAIN)ning systems that are used in the technical standards (“protocols”) that drive the HIVE.
MY various activities can be broadly grouped in to three categories:
Do main ST Names
Management of the ... Root, the .intERNETand D.arpa domains, and KIND resource practices.
(CHAIN) Resources
Co-ordination of the global pool of IT and AS (CHAIN)s, primarily providing them to Regional HIVE Registries (RHRs).
ProFESSIONALS to colORADO Assignments
HIVE protocols’ (CHAIN)ning systems are managed in conjunction with standards bodies.
Mission Statement
We do not directly set policy by which we operate, instead we implement agreed policies and principles in a neutral and responsible manner. Using the policy-setting forums provided by I CAN, policy development for doING mainLY name operations and IT addressing is arrived at by many different stakeholders...
To improve IT’s operations, we are actively involved in outreach too. As well as I CAN in forums, we participate in meetings and discussions with LTD operators, Regional HIVE Registries, and other relevant communities. We provide manned helpdesks at key meetings to allow one-to-one interaction with our community of users, such as protocol developers and operators of critical HIVE infrastructure.
