"OK. This place is disgusting. I don't think there is enough bleach on the planet to make it safe..."
"I found this stuff! It was in the cleaning section, and while I can't read anything on it it has a 5 page booklet of what I think are warnings... At least all the skull and crossbones and hazard signs look like warnings."
"Grab three. Anything with that many warnings has to be good." -- SilverRey
There are reasons why some hulks are classified unsalvageable. Some few are even marked hazardous to scavengers. Of course, once in a while, some Humans think that they have a good plan for skating past these laws[1]. They subsequently took it on themselves to salvage a designated hazardous vessel for profit.
Many of them are completely unfamiliar with GalStand, neither simple nor elaborate. They were, relatively speaking, barbarians. More accurately, they were under-educated, somewhat desperate, and ingenious enough to get themselves into terribly enormous amounts of trouble[2]. Two such Humans on one such enterprise have just entered their target vessel and realised that they may have made a mistake.
"What a wonderful new smell you've discovered, Princess," snarked the first.
"Oh flakk off," said the other, who was clearly not a princess. "It was free. You know what they say about free."
"Yeah, you get exactly what you paid for, Drez."
"Come on. It isn't as bad as Yarbik's place."
"Yarbik was a fungal life form. They don't count."
"Still stank, though. We know how to clean, this place is mostly structurally sound. We can do this, Bo."
Bo turned to Draz and said, "What are we gonna clean it with?"
"Uuuuuuhhhh... One minute." Draz ran off.
Bo sighed in the manner of people obligated to put up with these levels of nonsense and left the stinking interior of their 'find' in order to have access to fresher air. They were messing with their apps when Draz returned with bags loaded with interestingly colourful containers.
"I found this stuff in the cleaning section, and I can't exactly read all the words on there, but there's like fifty pages of warnings and the skulls mean it's dangerous so... They have to be good."
Bo, who was slightly ahead of the curve in danger detection, took a look at some of the pictograms and said, "Let's start with the safer means of infestation disposal first before using any of this on the stubborn stains."
"Fire sale?" said Draz.
"Fire sale," said Bo, and then proved they weren't that far ahead of the curve by adding, "with real fire."
[1] Humans always do this. There's no stopping them. Even when example is made of these levels of silliness, there's always another group who think they have it right this time.
[2] If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Just enough to know what one can do without knowing why it's a bad idea is truly devastating.
