The Wacky Track Fidget Toy is a finger toy that is designed to help you focus when studying,
working, or just need something to do with your hands.
The tiny main body is hinged itself 360 degrees to be used as a hand toy. The smaller track on top is
designed to slide over your finger and create a little stirrup motion for easier gripping power.
Each track is designed to have 3 levels of resistance, according to their purpose:
These gadgets are not new. A company called Alexvera makes them. They come in a variety of sizes,
with different levels of movement.
The tiny track on top has 3 levels of resistance: a 1/8 of an inch gradient, and another 1/8 of an inch
gradient on the other side. At around about 1.2 inches they are pretty easy to grip with one hand.
It will take you about 1/10th of a second to find the ideal grip strength point.
I preferred using the small gradient when moving them quickly across my desk. For a precision grip,
I’d recommend the 1/4 of an inch graduations.
If you want to try them out yourself, a quick YouTube search will guide you to a couple places you
can get them for a reasonable price.
The sliding mechanism is just a basic hack, and definitely not easy to tighten or loosen. But it does
the job well so far.
As for the sound making an impact, I like how loud and clear the device is. It is very relaxing to
listen to, and it helps me keep attention while working. It’s not quite as satisfying as my AAA
rechargeable batteries, but for work, it does the job.
While I initially found the track less than stellar in terms of functionality, soon I started liking how it
sounded.
- How does the Wacky Tracks toy benefit people who can't focus?
The Wacky Tracks toy is designed to help you focus by keeping your hands busy. We all know how
hard it is to sit still and focus on a task. Having something to do with your hands, and doing it with a
fun toy like the Wacky Tracks, can help you to stay focused.
A paper enclosed in a tiny self-balancing toy might do better in tests because it increases activity in a
part of the brain affected by rest, easing the mental strain of a brainstorming session. Research shows
that, compared to other toys for kids, the Wacky Tracks might be the ideal stress relief tool.
One of the keys to good stress relief is stimulation, which means using a toy that stimulates your
senses produces a similar effect to exercising or some kinds of therapy.
The speed and construction of these smart toys gives you real-time feedback. Drawing sounds,
bouncing water, and even music are used over Zoom calls so you can learn how your device is
functioning in real-time. Plus, you get to play with the tracks’ fingers.
Research shows that the stimulating effect of toys like these reduces the stress hormones and signals
your body receives when you are in a stressed situation.
Fidget spinners did not change my time sitting still; instead, they helped me to focus on a specific
task.
Your boss will likely not be impressed with you if you constantly have your eyes on your device
instead of the presentation. Starve the mind of distractions and you will give your brain what it needs
to do a task well. Sound too good to be true? It is. If you decide to try the Wacky Tracks, you can
enjoy the toy no matter how far away from your desk you are.
Like many companies now offering technology for the elderly or people just looking for unique ways
to refocus, Lindenlab is a great help to those who still find technology difficult to deal with.
