After checking your equipment you are basically ready for your first recording. Now we come to a point where different descriptions start due to the different camera brands. I try to explain it as general as possible but detailed that you can adjust it to your camera.
First of all, there are different types of recording a video. The easiest and most comfortable way to make a video with your camera is the Auto-Mode. Most cameras provide a green Auto icon where the camera adjust all settings automatically. For run & gun recording this might be the perfect solution, but if you want to go deeper in recording and achieve a cinematic look you shouldn’t touch this opportunity.
Buying a DSLR/DSLM gives you the chance to control your image. Of course you can stick to Auto-Mode, but do you buy a high-end gaming PC just for playing Candy Crush? Probably not. So you need to decide what you want to make. Should it just be a small clip for your memories or do you want to create a film which you can present the public?
