Meg Murry is a typical high school student who struggles with her self-esteem problems and just wants to integrate. Daughter of two renowned physicists, she is intelligent and exceptionally talented, as is her younger brother, Charles Wallace, but only that she has not realized it yet. Everything is complicated by the mysterious disappearance of Mr. Murry, which leaves Meg and her mother devastated with a broken heart. Charles Wallace introduces Meg - and his friend Calvin - to three heavenly beings (Mrs. What, Mrs. What and Mrs. Who) who travel to Earth to help them in the search for their father.
