One of my favorite apps this year has been privacy.com. It's main purpose is to all you to make a "burner" credit card that works online one time, and the self-destructs. This is cool enough in itself because if the website you're using looks sketchy, or you are concerned about putting a real credit card into an unknown vendor website, this option works really well. Should your card number end up for sale on the darkweb, the credit card won't work. But it has another purpose that it's really interesting that I don't hear mentioned very much - populating burner cards for kids games online. I know apple and many services have allowance functionality as well as a push notification to approve a transaction for a minor, however nothing works as simply as privacy.com does for this purpose. Just load the app or website. Create Card, and you're done. You can more fine grained controls as well to allow a certain amount per month or year. You can expire the card anytime you wish too if you don't do the "one time use" feature. It does need to hook up to your bank via your routing/account number, but aside from that, it works really well. When it shows up on your bank statement, you can also camouflage the purchase to be "Hardware Store" and there are a few others there as well. Some banks offer this for regular credit cards as well, however I don't find the UX or ease of use there. I hope someone finds a good use for it.
