Hi guys,
today, I and some of my friends run into trouble when we wanted to start #Firefox. I hope this article is helpful for others, who encountered the same problem.
Problem
Firefox was frozen and crashed after a few seconds. There were no recent updates visible. It will happen only in version 65.02 with Win7 or 10 | 64bit. After some investigation I found out that there was a new version from #Ghostery which leads to the problem. After disabled the add-on, all works fine.
Workaround
Disable add-on Ghostery solve the problem.
Feedback from Ghostery
Hello,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
First, very sorry for the inconvenience with this issue.
We are working with the Firefox team to fix this issue. It appears to be localized to Ghostery 8.3.1 users on Firefox 65.02 > | Windows 7 & 10 | 64 bit. Ghostery 8.3.1 has been in production for over a month, so as users are updated to the new >Firefox version, this glitch became apparent.
If you are experiencing this issue and your set up does not match that set up noted above, please let us know so we can investigate further.
More information as soon as we have anything to share.
Stay tuned,
Ghostery Support
