Biden has been consistent in his desire to overturn the PLCAA for years. Now, it's been said that he wants to screw with section 230.
This is a trend of consistent totalitarian thinking. Namely, he wants to violate the Constitution without technically violating the Constitution.
He does actually want to ban private ownership of guns. He can't say that and get elected and he still knows that -- he still believes it. But, it would be unconstitutional for him to ban guns. Gun manufacturers' profit margins are actually really thin. His desire to overturn the PLCAA is driven by his desire to ban guns by making it financially untenable for manufacturers to make guns available to civilians.
The goal is the same with his targeting of 230 and it's too perfect that this move against 230 came directly after Musk bought Twitter. Biden can't legally ban or compel speech. Musk's stated goal is to make Twitter as devoted to free speech as possible under the law. What Biden wants to do by altering or repealing 230 is open Musk's wallet up for attack by anybody who doesn't like what was said on the Twitter platform.
In both cases, the goal of the Biden administration is to violate the First and Second Amendments without technically violating them.
