Welcome once again to another episode of Random Fish Fridays!
This weeks episode is Seadragons, where we will be exploring some of the many Seadragons on exhibit at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California.
Weedy Seadragon
Our first fish this week is the Weedy Seadragon (Phyllopteryx taeniolatus), which can reach a length of up to 18 inches. Like all true Seadragons, the Weedy Seadragon is only found in the coastal waters of southern Australia.

Ribboned Seadragon
Up next is the Ribboned Seadragon (Haliichthys taeniophorus) which is found in the coastal waters of northern Australia. The Ribboned Seadragon is not a true seadragon, but is actually a variety of pipefish.

As you can see, the Ribboned Seadragon is an expert at blending in with it's surroundings and looking a lot like floating grass.
Thanks for stopping by and exploring with me the different types of Seadragons. Until next time...
