I knew what I wanted to write about along with a feature image from Pixabay. At least I thought the image was from Pixabay. Maybe I saw it somewhere else, cause after scrolling through several pages of different terms, I couldn't find it. Still, Pixabay has a way of stoking the imagination.
Some folks I know don't care too much for fishing. "It's boring", they say. "They're slimy and gross", is another one I hear. But the best is when someone wonders why another person would want to spend their time fishing. "Why would anybody enjoy fishing"? They ask in dead earnest.

Place yourself in the natural beauty of these images for just a moment. Imagine how it must feel to completely immerse yourself therein for a longer period of time. The sounds of the forest reaching your ears and its sweet smell in the air.
Fishing in the ocean brings a change of scenery, not beauty. It doesn't end there either. Water flows through almost every terrain on earth. The scenic possibilities are vast.
Ask a fisherman or a fisherwoman if they prefer saltwater or fresh. Most would tell you they could care less, so long as they're able to cast a line out. Surf fishing right from the beach is an incredibly relaxing experience, but you do have stay alert.
Have one of these puppies brush up against your leg while you're standing in the water. You might not notice it until a few seconds pass, then you'll wish you never heard of surf fishing.
Here's another that will get you. Surfers and surf anglers alike learn to shuffle their feet when they enter the water. Step on one of these babies and you might find you prefer the jellyfish.
Yea, these suckers will put a hole in your foot. If you're lucky, the stinger won't break off inside you and cause terrible infection. The only thing that nullifies the pain is placing your foot in a bucket of hot water. As hot as you can take it.
At this point, you might be wondering if this is still an inspirational fishing post. You do have to admit that it adds some excitement to the mix. I thought you said fishing is boring? I bet a run in with this momma would get your heartbeat going.
People and bears aren't the only animals that truly enjoy fishing. In fact, if I was a fish, I would be more worried about one of these whiskered fellers getting their paws on me. Oh no!
Fishing can also be a stress-relieving activity that you can share with a friend. Let the stereotype of a couple old fishing buddies end. Yes, they do enjoy that time together but so do the ladies!
Fishing does take skill and familiarity with the chosen equipment. It's rare a new angler takes on fly fishing and excels their first time. Though I must say, I have witnessed beginner's luck a few times as well.
People tend to view the difficulty of fishing as a turn off when it should be quite the opposite. Like anything, being a beginner can be frustrating. Just stop what you're doing and take in the view. Being a blundering newcomer won't seem so bad.
With an understanding and feel for your gear, confidence levels will start to rise. The fish will know it too, or rather they won't. For mastering the skill of fishing begins by convincing a fish that your bait doesn't have a hook and line attached.
Fishing is a great way to stay active too. You're not looking for a cardiovascular workout here (unless you take to the kayak), but some sunshine and perhaps hiking.
Put a full day's effort into a fishing excursion and you'll feel the exhaustion settle in as the sun drops low. It's not the kind of worn out emotion that comes from working too many days on end. This is a weariness one can revel in with the assurance of a night's sound sleep.
Sleep made that much better if your fishing efforts make it to the dinner table. Seared and glazed tuna? I'll let this final image do the talking all the way to your stomach.
