If the earth is flat and the stars , planets, moon and the sun revolve around it at not that great a height, I just have one question, according to all the flat earth models I've seen, let's say the sun remains at a set distance from the earth, the earth is flat so why do we have sunsets and dawns?
I mean if it is a the same distance shouldn't it just disappear from the horizon at the same height we should be seeing it every day? Just look at the model below:
See it rotates around and around always at the same height, if the earth is flat there should be nothing more than it just moving at the same height until you can no longer see it, like a plane, a plane doesn't disappear in the horizon it just vanishes from our sight, I think the sun should behave in the same way. You look up in the sky and you see a plane it didn't rise like during the dawn and it doesn't set, so why does the sun behave differently if the earth is flat?
Or have they come up with an option where the sun not only rotates round and round but also has an undulating movement which makes it get closer and farther from the earth? I don't think that's a good answer. Does this mean the horizon is circular? I don't know I think this flat earth theory doesn't have much going for it.
And another question I have is, why the hell would there be group of people trying to make us believe the earth is round and floats in space, what's in it for them?
