Meet Katarandak: Team BLAM! planted this hibiscus bush on May 1st of this year in celebration of Beltane. This particular floral life form received its odd name as a result of the unmistakable shared feelings of Blair's and mine that there was more to this plant than meets the eye. We speculated that it must be inhabited by a spirit of some sort, but it felt androgynous, perhaps because it was not animalistic, or even earthly.

Or maybe the plant contains both a male and female entity. The presence of both energies are required to produce flowers. Maybe they could even be two soul-bound lovers like us that decided to spend a life making the world more colorful and beautiful together.
Kat has been giving us gorgegous flowers like these consistently for the past four months, but with the temperature dropping here, there are no new buds swelling anymore. I say it is likely the last flower, because she/he has been delivering so spectacularly since coming into our life and we believe anything is possible.
Anyone have tips on how to preserve a tropical flower through freezing temperatures?
