Hello! I want to share with all the joy that I have experienced growing passion fruit at home.
It all started a year ago, we bought fruits and vegetables on the market, among which was passion fruit. Used as directed. I want to explain that I'm a professional bartender, I live and work in the south of Russia and even though it's south, the climatic conditions are not like in the tropics. Well, what am I talking about!)) When my wife and I ate this exotic fruit, we had an idea to try and express it. The next day, in order not to postpone the case in a long box, we have priroreli all that is necessary to plant the races. We live in an apartment on the second floor, there is not much room, but there is a balcony. In the internet, it was deducted that the passion fruit germinated, 2 weeks after planting. We waited - the pot remained empty, but we kept on waiting. When a month and a half passed, we stopped hoping, but from old times we watered the ground in a pot. Let me remind you that the landing was carried out at the beginning of August 2017, at the end of September we had a vacation with a trip to the relatives in another city. We returned in the middle of October and what was our amazement when in our pot with marquee we found seedlings. The pot was small 15 centimeters in diameter. We decided not to plant the creeper, but simply grow it in one pot.
As time passed, after the fall, the cold came and we moved our child from the balcony to the apartment. left on the windowsill, that she would receive enough light. I want to tell you that passion fruit is a very light-loving plant and the closer and longer it will be to the sun, the faster it will grow.
We continued to explore the vast expanses of the Internet, finding more and more information about the vine. We started giving the bait closer to spring. Expectations were not long in coming and the plant began to grow dramatically. As soon as the liana stretched for 2 meters in height, we decided to change the member of our seven into a new pot. Not looking at the recommendations from different sites and forums about the need to transplant a pot twice maximum, we put him in a pot in 4 times the size of the past. After that the passion fruit stopped growth, filling the root system with a new pot. I made special pegs that I placed on the perimeter of the pot, so that the vine can be directed - it's still a curling plant.
March passed and in April it became so warm that it was decided to bear a balcony on a light day. The temperature drops are great for us, and at night we had to hide it inside the apartment, so it continued until the middle of May. In the first month of the hot spring sun, tender flower leaves were not isolated and burned. At some point, we already thought that we would lose the plant, but it coped and was used to it. The subsequent leaves, which appeared with the rapidity of the fungi in the autumn forest after the rain, were already able to withstand the heat.
Liana began to add, 20-25 centimeters each week. And finally, at the end of July, the first buds appeared. And on August 2 our liana blossomed.
I can not convey all the excitement that we experienced when we saw the first flower when we came home. In joy, we began to ring up acquaintances and relatives, telling about our miracle. Soon we hope to get fruit and then I will try to tell you about it in detail, but now I just want to share my experience and tell you "LOVE nature".
