My children were all 3 given the Flu shot, first time in many years that I have let them get it, 2 were unknowingly given it at there regular check up...one needed his booster to enter 7th grade & the other a shot she needed when she was 2 & a half but was unavailable so she got it at her 3 yr check-up- I always ask what shots they are getting and I check my records to make sure they are not given the wrong vaccine or one they have already been given in the past-that said I did as I always do & after she was done and went to up-date their records she said oh by the way I went ahead and gave them their flu shot because it has been bad this year, I said I did not ask for that? She said she knew but did it as a courtesy since they had been on back order. Last year only one of my kids got the flu, & it was gone im 3 to 4 days with no problems-this year all 3 have had it, along side strep throat, & now 2 of my kids have had it a 2nd time as well as a stomach virus that they had to go the Dr for as well, My son had the flu for 2 weeks this 2nd time around, I know so many others that also have had it not once but twice and it is so bad in the schools, I am not sure if it has affected other states in the same way or not but I have never been a big advocate for the flu shot-I am now starting to wonder if it really helps or if it only causes more cases of the flu? I am not an expert in any field, (except maybe bartending lol) I am also a mother to 3 but by no means have I perfected that job! Anyway this is just my observation & my thoughts...
