Wow... What a week it has been on Hive!... It all started just 5 days ago when i posted twice about communities on Hive and why i felt that community leaders needed more support.. i was focussed on delegation in those two posts and not so much other aspects of community like support, teamwork, and indeed, in my case, even having a team! That is one of the reasons that it has been extra pressure for me personally, that i never had a team that supported the curating, commenting, and so many things community groups do on Hive. I have asked for help in the past but the right help never came.. except once or twice.. but for 4 years i have been leading this ecoTrain community solo. I just gave up asking for help, but now i have realised its time and i have to make this a team effort.
So after writing those two posts, looking for answers, reading the responses, and feeling the pressure of the ecoTrain community growing past what one person can do, I decided to put a call out! I wrote a post inviting people to support the ecoTrain community by getting involved. It was a good post, it got great support and and incredible response from so many people who commented and wanted to help in different ways.
I think there is a very nice passionate and soulful African group who are now already helping comment on so many posts that we get on the ecoTrain community. So from now on you can see these team players forming on the community page. Thank you team players! It's good to see so much positive engagement on everyone's posts!
Its been a bit of a challenge deciding how to organise all of this.. so after some thought yesterday I decided how I wanted to organise everything. I realised that without being very specific about the roles and boundaries, people are not sure what to choose or what they do.. i wanted to avoid overloading people or making it complicated.. keep things very simple as possible.. with minimal rules.. and requirements, and SO the way i decided to organise the team is to invite everyone who showed an interest to become a team player in once of the main roles that are now defined below..
- Community Commenter
- Community Up-voter
- Sustainable Curation Post
- Question Of The Week Curator
- Question Of The Week Tie Up Post Maker
- ecoTrain Conductor
Most people start as community commenter’s, and those people are so important and are many! They post from their own accounts on any posts on the ecoTrain community. They are already keeping the engagement up to new heights so that is already very good to see! So thank you to @vickoly, @itsostylish, @princessbusayo, @mayorkeys, @esther-emmanuel, @emeka4, @rayt2 your help is greatly appreciated!
Also im really happy that @nainaztengra and @misslasvegas have also expressed their desire to help and get involved in some of the community activities.. So you might see a post from one or both of then soon .. lets see how things pan out!
There are quite a few roles there, and i will be posting more details on them from the ecoTrain account shortly. It's a great change, and i think its working well.. now people can do what they want to do, and most roles don’t take up that much time and can be done anytime.. There are no meetings or formal structure, but there is a mutual feeling of respect and its a soulful group! That i am very happy to see and feel here in this community. Even now as we all post and share on this weeks quite edgy or controversial topic on "What we would ask God".. its SO good to see us talk about these really deep, personal, issues with so much respect for each others beliefs and cultures. That my friends is testimony to you all, and it makes me very happy to see and feel the very positive vibrations coming from you all!
SO, I was quite pleasantly surprised at the response to my post, and also look forward to feeling relieved in terms of the amount of time i need to spend online in general. On that note in fact, now i have been brought back to Discord after a long break! It was inevitable really that if we are to do this we will need to use discord .. so now that familiar alert sound is back.. and i hope its not too active. I like to say that our chats should happen on the blockchain.. and generally i like to keep my social life to a minimum on discord .. as the name says.. "DISCORD".. so far it goes well, minimum noise coming from it, I think we all get it now..
So from now on you can see the team that are working with me in the ecoTrain group.. You can also see who is in the team on the posts and comments made in the ecoTrain community.
That's our team today! You can expect to see some comments from them on your posts .. so a huge thank you to these people for showing up and helping make this community grow and be engaged and bring us together! It's a whole new world, and it feels good.. Of course now im working even harder as i bring this all together but i think very soon I will be able to take days off here and there and everything will be fine!
Saying that, I am still looking for the right few people who already know me, have been here some years.. and need help in any of the roles, and especially conductor! So if you feel like you would like to help up-vote, curate, post or more please do let me know in the comments.
If you have any questions i would love to hear from you and learn from your experiences.. Lets see how we move from here.. There is a lot of scope for some great new initiatives, posts, and competitions etc. from the @ecoTrain account.. so lets see what can happen when we all get together!?...
