Cake Friends,
I have noticed recently Mr Kipling have brought out lots of different flavours of their classic cakes. My husband saw this one and bought it for me. I wanted something cake like last night, so I decided to bring these out of the kitchen cupboard. Read on to see what I made of them.
Mr Kipling Lemon & Raspberry Mini Batts
”Chequered Pink and Lemon Flavour Sponge Sandwiched Together with an Apricot Filling, Wrapped in a Raspberry Flavour Paste."
I couldn’t wait to get into the box. When I did, I felt slightly underwhelmed. First of all, I was expecting six mini cakes, not five. Mr Kipling cakes always come in a box of six, so I couldn’t understand why there was five. In a way I was glad they had five in the box because when I took out my first cake, it looked like it had so much food colouring in it. It looked rather sickly. Then I took my first bite. It was gross! It just tasted like a bag of sour, sugary sweets. Yuk! I gave it to my husband to eat and he hated it too.
These cakes are going straight in the bin. Bloody horrible. Save your money and don’t buy them. I actually checked on a website for reviews to see what other people made of them. 3 out of 5 people gave them 5 stars. Seriously? These people have no tastebuds whatsoever! These were just a horrible, fake flavoured, over coloured sugary mess! Just stick to what you’re good at Mr Kipling. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.
