Donde estamos parados luego de Silverstone? se viene uno de los mejores GP de la temprada que es SPA y deverdad que no veo como NINGUN equipo puede ser contrincante de McLaren en SPA, pero si es cierto que el resto del grid va a tener interesantes batallas, tambien se acerca el receso de mitad de temporada y en el 2026 las nuevas regulaciones, la verdad bastante emocionante considerando que se rompio el encanto de Red Bull y tocara ver si McLaren se sostiene, iwal esta la promesa de Aston Martin con Adrian Newey y Mercedes que como siempre dicen que van super adelantados con el desarrollo de su motor. Lando Norris finalmente logró ganar en casa pero la forma en que pasó todo fue más dramática que una telenovela considerando como Oscar Piastri estaba DOMINANDO la carrera como si fuera el dueño del circuito, pero una penalización de diez segundos por frenado errática detrás del safety car le arruinó completamente la fiesta. La lluvia convirtió Silverstone en un verdadero campo de batalla donde los pilotos luchaban contra las condiciones traicioneras que hacían que hasta Max Verstappen se viera como un novato, la verad fue dificil no poder ver a Verstappen y Hamilton dominar en la lluvia pero es que ambos autos no estaban a su nivel. Nico Hulkenberg finalmente rompió su maldición de 239 carreras sin podio, subiendo al tercer escalón con Sauber en lo que fue probablemente el momento más emotivo del fin de semana y un gran avance para lo que es el proyecto de Audi. Mercedes tuvo un desastre total con sus decisiones estratégicas, especialmente esa apuesta loca por los neumáticos duros en condiciones húmedas que los mandó directo al fondo de la parrilla. Ferrari también la cagó feo con Charles Leclerc quien terminó peor que Hamilton lo cual tal ves nos dice deverdad quien es mejor en pista mojada. La carrera demostró que cuando llueve en Silverstone cualquier cosa puede pasar y este año no fue la excepción con accidentes, penalizaciones y decisiones estratégicas que cambiaron completamente el rumbo de la temporada.

The truth is, it was hard not to see Verstappen and Hamilton dominate in the rain, but the fact is that both cars were not at their best. Nico Hulkenberg finally broke his 239-race podium drought, climbing onto the third step with Sauber in what was probably the most emotional moment of the weekend and a big step forward for the Audi project. Mercedes had a total disaster with their strategic decisions, especially that crazy gamble on hard tires in wet conditions that sent them straight to the back of the grid. Ferrari also screwed up badly with Charles Leclerc, who finished worse than Hamilton, which perhaps tells us who is really better on a wet track. The race showed that when it rains at Silverstone, anything can happen, and this year was no exception with accidents, penalties, and strategic decisions that completely changed the course of the season.
Mercedes vivió una pesadilla estratégica que Toto Wolff describió como "terriblemente errónea y catastrófica", especialmente la decisión de usar neumáticos duros en condiciones húmedas que mandó a ambos pilotos al fondo del peloton y estoy seguro que tenina otros compuestos disponibles asi que no entiendo por que los nuematicos duros?. Russell logró rescatar un punto con el décimo lugar después de una salvada espectacular cuando cambió a neumáticos lisos demasiado temprano, pero Antonelli no tuvo la misma suerte y terminó retirado después de que Hajar lo golpeara por detrás. La comunicación entre los pilotos y el muro de boxes fue desastrosa, creando confusión en momentos críticos donde cada segundo contaba para las decisiones estratégicas. Ferrari también cometió errores garrafales con Leclerc, quien termino desaparecido de la pista, tan disparejo estaba que Stroll por mucho tiempo ocupo el tercer puesto de la carrear todo por que pilotos como Leclerc decidieron ir por neumáticos lisos cuando la pista seguía húmeda sinceramente donde estamos parados cuando vemos tantos equipos comter errores garrafales, si son situaciones extremas e impredesibles pero sinceramente no veo como Mercedes o Ferrari puedan ser la amenaza de McLaren el resto de la temporada entre la inconsistencia del equipo y los autos. Leclerc tuvo uno de sus peores fines de semana en mucho tiempo, perdiendo completamente el ritmo y terminando fuera de los puntos en una carrera donde debería haber luchado por el podio. Hamilton hizo una carrera decente pero no pudo superar a Hulkenberg a pesar de tener un auto superior, demostrando que en F1 no siempre gana el que tiene la mejor máquina. Carlos Sainz tuvo mala suerte otra vez cuando Leclerc lo sacó de pista arruinando lo que podría haber sido una buena carrera para Williams después de clasificar bien. La racha negativa de Sainz continúa siendo preocupante, con solo 13 puntos comparado con los 46 de Albon, aunque muchos de sus problemas no han sido culpa suya pero de todas formas se mira en el mismo espejo que Leclerc en Ferrari.

Hamilton had a decent race but couldn't get past Hulkenberg despite having a superior car, proving that in F1, the one with the best machine doesn't always win. Carlos Sainz was unlucky again when Leclerc took him off the track, ruining what could have been a good race for Williams after qualifying well. Sainz's negative streak continues to be worrying, with only 13 points compared to Albon's 46, although many of his problems have not been his fault, but he still finds himself in the same situation as Leclerc at Ferrari.
Hulkenberg se convirtió en el héroe inesperado del fin de semana aprovechando la estrategia perfecta de Sauber que incluyó cambios tempranos a neumáticos intermedios y luego una transición algo tarde a compuestos secos pero aun asi acertaron y no les paso como a Russell con Mercedes. El alemán mantuvo a raya a Lewis Hamilton durante toda la carrera con una conducción que parecía imposible después de quince años sin podio, demostrando que la experiencia y la paciencia pueden vencer al talento puro cuando las circunstancias se alinean. Jonathan Wheatley y su equipo ejecutaron una estrategia magistral que puso al auto en posición de aprovechar los errores ajenos, mientras que Hulkenberg no cometió ni un solo error en condiciones donde hasta los campeones mundiales se equivocaban. Sauber ha sumado 35 puntos en las últimas cuatro carreras, más que Red Bull y ahora están sextos en constructores con posibilidades reales de alcanzar a Williams. La celebración del equipo fue lo mejor de la premiacion, como coreaban a Nico, muy muy emotiva especialmente la reacción de Gabriel Bortoleto quien abrazó a su compañero con una alegría que demostró la unidad del equipo. Mercedes envió un paquete de felicitaciones a Hulkenberg, un gesto bonito pero que también sonó como una disculpa por no haberlo fichado en 2013??, no se la verdad pero tuvieron la oportunidad y no se dio, son las situaciones que uno siempre se pregunta que tan rapido puede ser un piloto con el auto adecuado. El podio de Hulkenberg fue un momento de justicia deportiva que estoy seguro muchos que les gusta apostar al under dog incluyendome pudimos disfrutar, es que en Silverstone hubo para todos. No pude postear de la Quali por temas de salud pero desde Verstappen siendo el mas rapido, Hamilton dando esperanzas de un Podium con Ferrari hasta la carrera donde estoy seguro hasta fans de Stroll pensaban que un tercer lugar era posible.

La carrera de Silverstone 2025 quedará marcada como el momento donde Hulkenberg finalmente obtuvo su merecido reconocimiento y donde Norris demostró que puede ganar en casa cuando las circunstancias se alinean sobre todo a su favor por que si no fuese por la pendejada que cometio Piastri dudo mucho que Norris hubiese ganado. Piastri sigue liderando el campeonato a pesar de la penalización y creo que ya habrio los ojos que McLaren no le va a hacer ningun tipo de favores y es hora de empesar a sacar los codos hasta con su propio equipo, la brecha con Norris se redujo a solo ocho puntos convirtiendo la lucha interna de McLaren en el subplot más interesante de la temporada. Red Bull necesita soluciones urgentes porque ni siquiera Verstappen puede extraer el máximo del RB21 en estas condiciones y las mejoras de Austria claramente no fueron suficientes para mantener el ritmo, en Silverstone apostaron por un paquete de baja carga aerodinamica que hasta cierto punto fue suicida y la prueba esta cuando callo la lluvia, Verstappen no podia controlar el auto en las curvas rapidas y tenia que soltar. El clima en UK una vez más demostró ser el gran ecualizador que puede cambiar completamente el orden establecido, premiando a los equipos que toman riesgos calculados y castigando a los que se equivocan en momentos críticos. Sauber aprovechó perfectamente la oportunidad de brillar en esta transición hacia Audi, demostrando que con la estrategia correcta y un piloto experimentado, cualquier equipo puede subir al podio. Mercedes y Ferrari tienen trabajo que hacer durante las vacaciones de verano porque sus errores estratégicos los están costando puntos valiosos y ya almenos Leclerc no esta solo en su frustracion contra Ferrari por que Hamilton no se queda atras y esta arto de las cagadas carrea tras carrera. Si nos preguntamos donde estamos en el campeonato me parece que McLaren estan solos, Red Bull es el equipo de un solo piloto y tal ves el fantasma que le puede sacar carreras del bolsillo por que tanto Ferrari como Mercedes son simplemente adornos en la temporada con lo inconsistentes que estan, se aweban y quedan con Williams. Actualmente muchos rumoran si Verstappen se ira de Red Bull, que si la clausula de Performance, que si se va para Mercedes y que pasaria con Russell, yo en lo personal creo que Verstappen no se va para ninguna lado y van a apostar por las nuevas regulaciones en el 2026 almenos por el momento, es cierto que aun falta mucho para finalizar la temporada y creo que es muy temprano para decir si Verstappen se va asi como no creo que vallan a cambiar a Yuki, despues de todo Verstappen ha hecho toda su carrera en Red Bull y por mas mal que la este pasando por lo general los pilotos creen en su equipo, hasta que ya no, sino miren a Hamilton pero si se metio dos temporadas malas antes de irse a Ferrari.
