As traders, investors, speculators, and bystanders who are anticipating the "next BIG thing". Just would like to remind everyone and offer some options on taking a position with EOS. Now I admit I am still new to the Steemit Platform and to the community. So my knowledge here is somewhat limited versus the veterans who have been with Steemit since day one and have gotten to know the community a lot longer. My intention is primarily for a newcomer or first time buyer including myself to have options for a Crowdsale or ICO.
"OK Google" investor vs speculator
The main difference between speculating and investing is the amount of of risk undertaken in the trade. Typically, high-risk trades that are almost akin to gambling fall under the umbrella of speculation, whereas lower-risk investments based on fundamentals and analysis fall into the category of investing.
OPTION 1
Bystander - a person who is present at an event or incident but does not take part
OPTION 2
Speculator - high-risk trades that are almost akin to gambling fall
OPTION 3
Investor - lower-risk investments based on fundamentals and analysis fall
OPTION 4
Trader - a person who buys and sells goods, currency, or stocks.

Now lets "TEST" this beta "fourths rule strategy"
Basically divide your investment total that you are wanting to invest into 4ths 1/4 25% A FOURTH. (100K / 4 = 25K)
Simply hiding the first 25K stashed away until after about 9-12 months before thinking of buying anymore. Pretend that it does not exist until the 1 year anniversary. (beta)
That now leaves you with 75K to start to buy in 3rds 1/3 33% A THIRD. (75K / 3 = 25K)
As a brand new asset which may or may not succeed in the next 12 months, it's better to play it safe than just to go ALL in...
$25,000 is a decent amount already and most likely will be manageable without losing much sleep versus the whole $100,000 going ALL in...
More than likely after the launch of the new token the price usually drops down and that's where you want to be positioned to buy up any lower priced tokens from those who changed their minds perhaps at the last minute and take advantage of the savings.
That leaves with your last 25K which should be used when the price drops significantly lower than 50% of the initial asking price. If it does not drop that low, buying at the going rate will suffice.
If everything went as planned, continue to sell your tokens higher using "thirds rule strategy"
Buy in Thirds
Sell in Thirds
Rinse and Repeat
