Jorden Peterson warned us all what would happen when Bill C-16 wrote compelled speech into our laws, making it a matter subject to civil forfeiture and even criminal prosecution to refuse to address another person by a pronoun they made up, regardless of the appearance and deportment of that person. In reality we address strangers according as their appearance, style, deportment, evinces their sex so we say "him" or "her" if we need a pronoun. I wouldn't call a stranger “Her" if he had a beard; doing that would be subjection to a bully, namely this person, demanding that I submit to violating my own judgement as to what is real and what is not.
The enforcement of “gender identity” is not the real bottom line, just the thin edge of the wedge. If I were to meet a person who looked like Blaire White I wouldn’t need to be told to use “she” instead of “he”. I’d call it as I saw it. I would perhaps even sense that this person is a transexual, but calling this person “she” when this person has obviously adopted the appearance of a woman because they wish to live as a woman doesn’t cost me any sense of humiliation because I chose what to call this person; I chose it out of wishing to be compassionate. Blaire White in this hypothetical instance is not bullying me. Blaire White in the real world refuses to be used as a political battering ram. That’s why I admire her and call her she. She speaks out as a free individual and leaves me alone to do the same. The government of Canada has abandoned that foundational principle of democracy.
Jorden Peterson warned us all that this government enforcement of absurdity, forcing individual Canadians to defer to the government over their own judgement, has no limit. Enforcing absurdity has no limit. The content and particulars of the lie is not the point, submission is the point. First it’s compelled lies about pronouns, then it comes to compelled lies about a disease. First off, people are fired from their tenured university professorship because they refused to use absurd made-up pronouns; soon people are imprisoned because they refuse to say they are sick when they know damn well they are not.
Enforcing absurdity is what totalitarian states do to humiliate and disorient citizens. Making people say something is real when they know it is not real, making people tell lies that they know are lies, it has no boundary on its corrosion. It is linguistic imperialism, bullying. It started out enforcing "gender" and now it comes to enforcing the lie that Covid is a health emergency on a par with the Black Death.
The more absurd and unbelievable the Lie is, the more effective it is in degrading peoples' sense of their personal sovereignty. In the face of the government telling you that you have no right to judge for yourself what is real, most people will take mental steps to put their judgement to sleep to avoid the pain of no longer having the right to be an adult. The more clearly I see that the government dictate is a lie and by submitting to advertise and repeat that lie I'm lying to everyone including myself, the more clearly I know this, the more degraded and humiliated I feel. Nazi Germany was crawling with lies and absurdity, principally that people one knew to be ordinary healthy people were deemed to be diseased and in need of segregation from normal people and then they were in need of extermination. We here today are supposed to be living in a democracy where our individual judgement as to what is real and what is moral results in our free judgment in the voting booth.
The people of Germany in the 1920s were voting too. But over years of thugs in the street painting obscenities on grocery store windows and smashing those windows and getting away with it, years of seeing judges let these criminals go free – that’s what went on in Germany in the 1920s in the Weimar Republic – the people were softened up, intimidated, forced to witness and submit to absurdity and chaos and call it normal. The 1920s started out with the chaos and humiliation of post-war national bankruptcy which made money worthless. Then things seemed to stabilize. Then the world economy collapsed. By then Germans were so battered by lies they were persuaded to try to believe the Nazis had won the election legitimately and Hitler was just another legitimately elected Chancellor. They must have heard Hitler swear to become a dictator and a war monger; they’d had years of thuggery by Nazis in the street, years of bullying making them acquainted with what these bullies really were. But they submitted to the lie that Hitler was to be just another fairly elected Chancellor and normal government, normal life, would continue to be normal.
The lie that the German people elected Hitler willingly in a fair election has been written in the history books and taught in our schools ever since. It’s the lie that we in our modern age would not be like Germans in 1933. The truth is that we all, Americans and Canadians, have been softened up just like they were. The American election of 2020 was a fraud so blatant and obvious that half the states of the Union tried to sue the government to have it at least re-assessed. And the world economy is on the brink of collapse. And innocent healthy people are being called sick and imprisoned. And Canadians as young as five are being injected with a lie as well as a poison without, even in spite of, their parents consent. How much further do you think they’ll push us?
Everybody who takes these vaccines that have been publicly revealed to be not vaccines at all, every injected person, is registered on a global database. Now people who have a cell phone are tracked automatically wherever they carry their phones and all their personal and commercial contacts are registered on databases which police can access; everybody knows this but they are persuaded to ignore it. Now they must use their cell phones to be admitted to the normal and free life they used to take for granted two years ago. Suddenly there are check points at every restaurant doorway even if one is fully “vaccinated”. Suddenly there is prison arbitrarily enforced even if one is fully “vaccinated”. Oh please, we cry silently, please, O Authority, please let things be normal again.
The Germans of the 1930s tried to restore normality by behaving as if everything were normal. Then they found that there was no limit on what they must call normality, and even sincerely believe to be normality, despite their own perceptions. They were so different from the Canadians of that day. They are absolutely not one bit different from the Canadians of today.
