I'm here to tell you that a giant private corporation that has the power to limit human communication violating the principles of free speech is a problem we should care about.
The 1st Amendment was created because the founders saw the value of free speech, and were concerned that the state was it's biggest enemy.
Free speech remains important even if it's not the government threatening it, and the government was never the only enemy of uninhibited expression. Many people who are perfectly content to watch Twitter control what people are allowed to talk about would have lost their minds if it was the church controlling what books could be published and what those books could say.
In theory, the Bill of Rights is supposed to protect use from government suppressing speech. The only thing that protects us from private entities doing the same is us.
