A Wisconsin technology company is utilizing microchips in its employees. The chips are implanted under the skin, can be used for building scans and also to purchase food at work. The implanting of the chip is said to be up to the employee.
Three Square Market, company provides the technology for break rooms and micro-markets, has over 50 employees that are said to be getting the implant. The small chip uses RFID (Radio frequency identification), and can be inserted in between the thumb and forefinger in “mere seconds,” according to the company.
The company, based in River Falls, Wisconsin, USA., sees this as a means toward better accessibility into rooms, buildings, making payments, etc.,. Their goal is to have the employees that need particular levels of access to have that ability from the rice grain sized chip. The CEO of the tech company Todd Westby says his goal is to incorporate their technology into every possible facet. This is seen as the beginning in a long road leading to passports, public transportation, purchasing of items and other possibilities.
The company providing the chips wants to assure everyone that its no big deal because their employees are taking part in this procedure.
I tried to write as impartial of a piece as possible but this is down right ludicrous. So much for freedom? I wouldn't be shocked if the government was using this to tag the homeless and criminals.
