I was unsure of her motivation for changing that pattern. Under normal circumstances, she would respond to that input string with a shoryuken. But this time, she didn't. She knew I wanted her to do that. But this time, she went for the leg sweep.
I don't know if the sudden change left me unable to block, but there I was, on my back. The tables had turned, and I needed to get out of that situation. I got back up, and went into a crouching block. I figured she was going to try it again. She always does.

She's been practicing outside our normal sparring! Once again, she caught me out. I'm going to need to change my strategy, too. Recover, block mid, that worked. Now for the bait. Jab outside of range.
