As the blues were playing in the background, Alton was feeling very lonely though there were many people in the bar that night.
He was drinking, trying to kick his loneliness off but the blues were really not helping. They made his heart sunk even deeper. "Off all nights, do they have to play these tonight?"
He just made the hardest decision to actually leave the girl that he really likes because he was threatened by his mother. Because of that, Alicia has to marry the guy her mom picked, the richer man who apparently will upgrade all of their lifestyle for them.
Alton felt so useless and he was trying to drink off his blues. Why didn't he try to stand up for himself but to just let her go when her mom started to impose some threats on his career and family members? Is he even a man? "No, I'm a coward. I didn't manage to protect her."
Alicia asked him to flee with her, to a place where no one knows them and start over a life without constraint by others. Even that, he had no courage.
Alton drank and drank, trying to numb himself. He finally became too drunk and unconscious. Just then, two guys came in to take him away and brought him to a secluded house. The one waiting for him there was Alicia and Alton's uncle whom he had never met. This uncle was deemed missing for a long time but he came back with a fortune and he was willing to support his nephew, only with one condition - to take revenge against Alicia's mom, who had betrayed his love decades ago by marrying Alicia's dad for his wealth. Alicia had to take up this last resort.

Freewrite is a prompt writing initiated by @mariannewest and @improv to write a free-flow post without correcting or editing. I checked out her post to really get what it is before I jumped on the bandwagon. Basically, there is no right or wrong, just let the mind and fingers do their work, to find our creative self and let it come out of us.
