Every vote counts. Every upvote amounts to something (unless it is dust vote😜).
Just as our votes here for witnesses are crucial for the performance of the platform (you can read about my post on Steemit witnesses here.), our vote for our country during the election day is of utmost importance too.
Months before our election was held in the month of May, people of different groups and organisations had been hosting meetings and gathering to give speeches, to promote and to encourage every eligible citizens to register for election. 21-year-old is not just an age to freedom, but an age where your right to vote for your choice of government is given to you. Therefore, each citizens 21 years old and above were urged to vote. Vote. Vote. Vote.

Banners and flags of represented parties would be seen hanging proudly everywhere in town. Families would be busy making arrangement to vote on the day, especially those with babies and toddlers and children, to ensure everyone got to vote. No one would be missed out.
The view of towns on the day of election was impressively scenic. Out of a sudden, everyone had a new-found zeal to wake up extra early to queue up. What touched my heart was youngsters pushing wheelchairs of their elderly to the spot to observe their duties.
This year's election brought forth synergy among most citizens. Somehow we were on oneness, desiring a new government that was free of corruption. Young and old, all from different races and cultures came together for one same goal. Fresh and new government. The hot weather did not stop anyone from voting. It was an incredible sight, you could literally feel the harmonious, everyone was in unison, to say the least.
Then photos of our POF, Proof of Fingers, flooded every social media, showing off and being proud that we had done our job!

T'was a long night of waiting for the result, to the extend of skipping sleep and eyes glued to the TV for the outcome. When the majority won and a new government was going to take place, citizens were on cloud nine, leaping with joy, some hugged one another and exclaimed "finally we have new fresh air!"
Now it is up to the new government to perform and to do what they say they will do. We, as citizens, with due respect, will choose to honor and support and pray for our country.
