We all need a buffer, don't we?
Something between us and the stars. No, wait. That's a blanket. A buffer is between us and each other. Another someone who gives us free reign to run ourselves ragged so that when we reenter polite society we're out of energy to appall them.
Buffering. That's the nonsense that makes us go round in circles while we wait for the internet to catch up to us. That we need. Because we're too much. We're too fast. Too ready for the next thing when the last thing isn't through with us.
We need buffering like the lion needs a lake between herself and the tigers. There they are, looking at themselves in the water. Admiring their stripes and their powerful rippling muscles. I have a hunger, but it's better that I satisfy it on an antelope or gazelle than on a tiger.
I'll bet tiger meat is gamy anyways, thinks the lion. The lion knows she is fooling herself. It's dangerous to prey on a predator. It's dangerous. Even if I win myself a meal, I'll lose.
I want to watch the tiger watch the water. I have my pride. I have my pride. I have my pride.
Too many days buffer us. Want. Buffer. Get.
