Dog breath is not so bad if you have a dog with good breath. Doug was just such a dog. And he was so beautiful that even Cheryl was breathtaken... SHe had her breath taken away by the dog's beauty.
"I want him," she told the Humane Society personnel.
"Oh..." Candace, who was that humane society personnel whispered.
Candace had been planning, hoping, wishing that she could take Doug home herself. She lived in a tiny little studio, though, and she felt like that wouldn't be fair. But from the moment he'd arrived, she thought Doug would be the dog for her, and she'd save every penny so that she could someday move into a bigger apartment. But that was silly thinking. Doug needed a home now. He deserved a backyard and-
"I think he'll go so nicely with the new fur coat I just got. Isn't it to DIE for? Of course, I'll be eating ramen for the next month to afford it." Cheryl was awful, Candace thought.
"What kind of a place do you have?" asked Candace.

"Like, do you have a nice big back yard for Doug to run around
