I am more interested in skepticism. Which doesn't mean doubting every new thing. It means re-examining your own assumptions so that as you encounter a new thing, you can recognize what knowledge you think you have, why you think you know the thing, and if the new thing challenges it, you can go looking for its source and re-evaluate your assumptions.

no. Let's keep it cool. Just general. There are people who believe in some bullshit. They tell me about this bullshit. I don't want to just dismiss their bullshit out of hand, but since I know I've done some digging into the source of their bullshit before, I'm starting from a place of skepticism, and will be not only evaluating the information itself, but the reliability of the source.
It is exhausting. Especially since I know that loads of other people don't bother with even a fraction of the searching I do.
Look at me, all high and mighty about how difficult I am in social situations.
How hard is it to just include your sources in your claims?!?
