The rain clouds were darker than they had ever been. Freda grabbed the last of the outdoor furniture and headed inside the house. It was near tornado season and although the season had not officially started, Freda took no chances. Living in a tornado alley wasn’t ideal, but she knew the procedure.
It was amazing how many of her closest friends and family had been terrorized by these storms. Some have lost their houses; others lost their lives. But still no one ever moved away. Freda thought about moving a few times, but the thought was always replaced by the love of the land; when it wasn’t under attack.
It seemed everyone had their share of weather and there wasn’t any perfect place to be; at least not on this Earth. So, the storms would come and they would go and they would blow off the roof, or leak rainwater into the house. The house would be hard to dry and then the mold would grow.
Freda would spray vinegar in the house night and day and sometimes hated the smell, but that was the price she had to pay to live where she lived. And one day she would be in Heaven where there were no tornados and no such thing as mold.
Ding!
